Betty E. Shepherd

Betty E. Shepherd, 87, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 28th, 2021.

She was born in Newark, Ohio, on January 31, 1934, to Andrew and Ada (Donahue) Cramer.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Shepherd, her son, Robert Allan Shepherd, brother, John Gastil, and sister Patty Gastil.

Surviving family members include daughters Linda (Steve) Darfus, Lisa Lauinger, son Marc, and daughter in law Billie Jean (Pedersen), and her grandson, Toran Eaton.

Betty had seven grandchildren; Jesse (Roberta), Danny (Anna), Kristopher, Kody, Vanessa, Patrik, and Alyssa.,

Betty had five great grandchildren; Angel, Robert, Isabelle, Lucien, and Phoenix.

Sister in law Sandy Gastil, and her daughter Heather and baby Elle.

Nieces Debbie Heit, and her sister Cindy.

Close friends Wanda and Donnie Mathess.

Numerous other family and friends.

Robert and Betty were childhood sweethearts, and Robert would buy Betty a dozen red roses every anniversary. When Robert passed away, Betty kept a picture of him in the living room by her chair, and Betty loved to go to yard sales.

Her and her longtime friend Wanda, would go almost every weekend. Thank you Wanda for always being there for mom.

When you mentioned Betty's name to someone, they often commented on what a nice, sweet lady she was. She is going to be missed by all.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus - OH 43231. Burial will take place in procession to Eastlawn Cemetery, Columbus - OH.
