Beverly Ann Johnson

July 12, 1949 — March 13, 2025

Columbus, Ohio

Beverly Ann Johnson, affectionately known as Bevy, passed away on March 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. Born on July 12, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, she lived a life that was a true testament to her caring nature and generous spirit.

Bevy was a devoted family woman who recognized that the most precious moments were spent surrounded by those she loved. Her greatest pride lay in the family she and her husband, Bruce Calvin Johnson, Jr., created together during 55 wonderful years of marriage. Bevy found joy in every gathering, every shared meal, and every moment spent with her children and grandson. She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; her two sons, Bruce (Jason) Johnson, III and Clayton Johnson; her cherished grandson, Kinmer Andrew Johnson; her sister, Esther Hunter; her sister-in-law, Barbara (David) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Beyond her devotion to family, Bevy had a variety of interests that brought her immense joy. She loved watching musicals, delving into the wondrous worlds they painted on stage. Her hands were often busy, whether crafting unique creations or working through puzzle books, each activity a reflection of her creative spirit.

Bevy's kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her warm smile and compassionate heart made her a beacon of light in the lives of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Pearl Lee Brooks; her mother, Charlotte Oneida Firman; her brother, Robert Brooks; and her sister, Donna Brooks, each of whom she cherished deeply.

Though Bevy is no longer with us, the love and the memories she created will eternally shine bright in the hearts of those she left behind. In this way, her spirit will never truly depart from this world, as she lives on in the laughter, stories, and love shared by her family.
