Beverly A. Wilson-Timmons, also affectionately known as 'Bobbi', 78, of Columbus, Ohio, departed this life on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Majestic Care of Whitehall in Whitehall, Ohio.
Beverly was born in Youngstown, Ohio on January 22, 1942 to Ralph E. Thomas and Laura C. Lee Thomas. She married Edward Timmons in December 1977. She attended South High School in Youngstown, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree, in social work, specializing in gerontology, from Youngstown State University. Additionally, she completed several master's degree courses at Cleveland State University. She retired from the former Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD) in 1999 as a Rehabilitation Specialist III.
Beverly made Columbus her home in the early 1990s. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, golf, and working with ceramic artwork, and was the owner of Bobbi's Hobbies.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Timmons, and by her brother, Ralph L. Thomas. Beverly is survived by her sons, Melvin C. Wilson of Washington D.C., and Keith L. Wilson (Sandra) of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Donnita Booker of Hilliard, Ohio; grandchildren, Misha Asamoa, Ashley Wilson, Demetrius Robinson, Joshua Asamoa and Spencer Wilson; six great- grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private family service will be held on January 5, 2020 at Newcomer Northeast Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place during the summer of 2021 at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
