Bill Chaplin, 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at his home on December 30, 2009. Bill was born on April 27, 1922, in White Cottage OH. He graduated from St. Nicholas High School in Zanesville, OH in 1941. He served in WWII from 1942-1946. Bill retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio in 1984 after 37 years of service. Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan (Snider) Chaplin; sons, Greg (Basia) Chaplin and Tom (Nancy) Chaplin; daughter, Chris (Mark) Casher; grandchildren, Nick, Courtney, Brad, Rob, Katie, Michael; great-grandchild, Logan; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in Zanesville, Alliance, Columbus, and Ft. Myers, FL. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010, 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123 with the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Carmel Hospice, 793 West State Street, Columbus, OH 43222.
