William "Bill" Smyth, age 90, of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 20, 2025. Bill was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Willie Howard and Willie Mae Fayson.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Luretha Moore.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Smyth, his daughter, Mary (Brandon) Logan, his grandchildren, LuShawn Williams, Aiesha (Tyrone) Balance, James Moore, Andrea Nicole Johnson, and Rasheen Moore, his sister, Helen (Marvin) Jones, 17 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.
He was an avid fisherman and he had taught his wife to be a fisherwoman. He was a senior citizen basketball player for 10 years for the Detroit Ambassador's from age 70 - age 80. He played softball through those years as well. He loved his family and spending time with them.
He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 1pm-3pm for calling hours at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City, Ohio 43123 with a funeral service following starting at 3pm.
