Billy R. Elkins

Billy R. Elkins, Gahanna, born April 3, 1924, passed away September 2, 2012. Billy served in World War II in the US Army, 921st Field Artillery, 96th Infantry Division & retired from Fred D. Phening Company. He was a member of Oakland Park United Methodist Church, serving in various positions.

He found joy in making things for others and lending a helping hand. Billy is preceded in death by wife Henrietta; son David; parents, Lulie and M.C. Elkins.

Survivors include his daughter, Diane (Bill) Gibson; granddaughter, Jennifer (Tim) Riley; grandson, Brian (Kesha) Gibson; great-grandsons, Zehnder and Trace Gibson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends Friday, September 7, 2012, from 2 PM until time of the memorial service at 4 pm. At Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers Bill would appreciate contributions to Mount Carmel Hospice.
