Bonnie J. Stone, 83 , of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Bonnie Jean Stone was born February 7, 1941 in Wellston Ohio. Her parents Warren and Dora Young raised her in Wellston, Glen Roy, and Jackson Ohio areas before moving to Columbus Ohio after her high school graduation.

Bonnie, or Jean as many of her friends called her, was a strong advocate for animal welfare and mental health awareness. In her early years she worked at Midland Insurance, later marrying and traveling with her then husband Richard Stone to Asia and Hawaii before settling back to her native Columbus Ohio where she thrived working at Borden Corporate until retiring when the Borden Columbus location closed. She went on to several jobs to include one she held most dear working at North Central Mental Health Services from which she retired a second time less than ten years ago. She had a heart for volunteering and continued after retirement and gave her time to Riverside Hospital. Additionally, she volunteered as a school Red Cross Volunteer Nurse at her children's school in Wahiawa Hawaii; as an usher at the Ohio Theater; and many years at several animal shelters, the most recent being the Franklin County Dog and Animal Adoption center whose volunteers welcomed her most recent visit in 2023 to walk a dog and see the good volunteering can bring to our families and our communities.

Bonnie was loved will be deeply missed by her family: Daughter Lori (Jim) Conkle, Son, Rich (Barbara), Grandchildren: Donny (Danielle) Townsend, Kevin (Kenzie Bell) Conkle, Jimmy (Jodi Oakman) Conkle, Mike (Katie) Conkle, Emma (Cory) Beal, Eric (Kelsey Babik) Stone and Declan Stone. Great Grandchildren, Cora Conkle; Kaiser Townsend, Ben, Azalea, Donovan, Fiona Beal; Owen and Addison Conkle. Niece, Andrea Gregg and Nephews, John Gregg, Randy Dixon, and Troy Young.
