Brenda K. Welch

November 5, 1945 — January 10, 2025

Brenda K. Welch, a beloved mother, grandmother, Gigi, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on November 5, 1945, in Cabin Creek, West Virginia, Brenda touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit and genuine warmth.

Brenda took great pride in her accomplishments, particularly her graduation from the police academy, a milestone that exemplified her determination and strength. She carried this fighting spirit throughout her life, bravely overcoming multiple battles with cancer, always emerging victorious. Her zest for life was unparalleled, marked by her distinctive sense of humor and her tendency to speak her mind without a filter. Brenda's laughter was infectious, as well as her ability to lighten the mood with her wonderfully off-the-wall comments, a trait fondly remembered by her son, Shane. Their countless conversations brought joy and a belly full of laughter, memories that will forever echo in the hearts of her family.

Professionally, Brenda worked at Roxanne Lab in customer lab services, where she not only honed her skills but also formed deep and lasting friendships with her colleagues. Her personality shone bright—she was feisty, stubborn as a mule, and generous, always ready to lend her enormous heart to those in need. In her leisure time, Brenda enjoyed going to the shooting range, where she practiced her target shooting, a passion of hers. She loved visiting the beach, indulging in the adventures of Janet Evanovich's novels, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family, which remained her proudest accomplishment.

Brenda is survived by her doting daughter, Angela (Brian) Hutt; loving son, Shane (Tina) Welch her cherished grandchildren, Allison (Mike) McGinnis and Katie (Drew Vonderhuevel) Hutt; her precious great-grandchild, Blake Wimer; her dear brother, Joe E. (Sandy) Chambers, Jr.; and several close family friends, including Tom Sanginiti, Charlette Smith, Lisa Slone, and honorary grand dog Bella.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe E. Chambers; her mother, Mildred Chambers; her son, Millard D. Treadway, Jr.; and her sisters, Alice Leatherwood and Billie Ann Mize. Brenda’s legacy of love, humor, and resilience will surely live on in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her family and friends are invited to come together, share stories, and remember the remarkable life of Brenda K. Welch—a woman who truly embodied the essence of love and laughter.
