Caleb A. Canterberry

December 28, 1994 — December 1, 2024

Caleb A. Canterberry, affectionately known to many as "Soup" or "Worm," left this world on December 1, 2024, in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born December 28, 1994 in Columbus, Ohio, and his journey through life was one filled with music, creativity, and an unyielding spirit that touched the hearts of many.

Growing up, Caleb was a beacon of kindness and humor, known for his sarcastic wit and soft-spoken nature. His musical talent became evident early on, as he not only attended Blackman High School but thrived as the section leader drummer in both the marching band and the rock band that ignited the spirit at football games. His ability to weave rhythm and melody created a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of watching him play, especially his beloved drums.

Caleb’s passion for music led him to tour across the country with his band, From Under the Willow. Those fortunate enough to witness his performances will fondly remember the magic he brought to each show, a magic that can only be felt when witnessing someone completely in their element.

He is survived by his loving family. His father, Scott Canterberry, and his mother, Melody Canterberry, cherished their son and supported him in all his endeavors. Caleb also leaves behind his grandfather, Paul Canterberry, and cousins, including Chelsea (Matthew) Norris, whose laughter and companionship brought him joy in life. He is remembered fondly by Rowan, Ridik, Reese, and River Norris, as well as his Aunt Melissa (Mike) Stone, and cousins Laura Carey and Brian (Brittney) Carey. Caleb was embraced by a circle of extended family and friends who found light in his presence.

Caleb now joins his beloved grandmother, Diane Canterberry, and his grandfathers, Butch and Mary Schwamberger, along with his aunt, Cynthia Canterberry, in eternal rest. Each of them marked his life in ways that helped shape the kind, funny, and musically gifted man he had become.

A visitation honoring Caleb's life will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on December 12, 2024. Following this, a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, allowing all who knew and loved Caleb to come together to celebrate his remarkable journey and the indelible mark he left on this world.  Pastor Jay Lucas to officiate.

As we reflect on the memories shared with Caleb, especially watching him play the drums, may we carry his spirit with us, a reminder of a life lived true to itself, filled with creativity, kindness, and an infectious love for music. He will be profoundly missed, but his rhythm will echo on, resonating through the hearts of all those he touched.
