Carl "Avon" Thackwell, 95, Columbus, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. Born to the late George and Bessie (Mercer) Thackwell in Quincy, MI, Avon is also preceded in death by his wife Betty (DiFranco) Thackwell. Survivors include his daughter, Leslie (Rick) Paoletti of Worthington. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, 10:30 A.M. at Worthington Christian Village, 165 Highbluffs Blvd, Worthington, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worthington Christian Village Employee Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH.
