Carl Loftus, 71, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 at his residence.
He was born January 12, 1942 in Columbus, son of the late James and Alberta Neal Loftus.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his son, Carl Loftus; brothers, James and Daniel Loftus; sisters, Mary Loftus, Agnes Loftus, and Grace Halas; son-in-law, Kevin Conley.
He served in the Army during Vietnam. Carl retired from the U.S. Government with over 34 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ethel Loftus; children, Mary (Domenic Palumbo) Kraft, Diane (Adam) Tollett and Danny (Michelle) Loftus; sister, Eleanor (Kenny) Beck; grandchildren, Joe, Erin, Matt, Angela, Domenic, Kyle, Carl, Delyssa, Erianna, Jenna and Ava; great grandchildren, Jacob, Ca'Mya, Alex, Aaliyah, Kamden and Ben.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Kingwood Memorial Park.
Carl was the heart and soul of his family and will be dearly missed by all who have had the privilege to have known him.
