Carol A. Campbell, 65, Gahanna, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a 7 year battle with rheumatoid arthritis and 15 months with cancer. Carol loved life and fought to live each day to its fullest. Carol did child care for 21 years in her home and her biggest enjoyment was caring for those children as well as her own children and grandchildren. Carol was born in Cleveland on October 6, 1946, and is preceded in death by her mother, Rose (Kopczinsky) Peck; son Roy Gibson. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, James R. Campbell; daughters, Maureen (Danny) Robins, Sharon, (Christopher) Miller, Janelle (Andy) Leonard; sister, Barbara (Don) Whitecotton; brother, Russ (Diann) Peck; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A Memorial Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior, at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Columbus, OH 43224. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Carol's name may be made to Christians Overcoming Cancer, 200 E. Campus View Blvd, Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43235. Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3027 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH is honored to serve the Campbell Family.
