Carolyn Kay Blackburn

Carolyn Kay Blackburn, 85, of Columbus, OH, passed away on February 16, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1939 in Portsmouth, OH.

Kay grew up in Minford Ohio and graduated from Minford High School in 1957. She attended The Capital School of Beauty Culture in Columbus, OH graduating in 1958. She enjoyed a career as a beautician until becoming a mother to Lisa and later worked at Glengary and Grandview Cleaners until retirement. She was a loving wife and mother who was happiest when she was taking care of her family and interacting with her friends and acquaintances. Always showing love and kindness but also displaying an infectious sense of humor that endeared her to everyone. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Benton McClellon Wilson and Grace Elzina (Snodgrass) Wilson, siblings, Robert Wilson, Joan Parks, Frances "Dutch" Wilson, Ellen Murphy.

Surviving family includes husband, David Blackburn, daughter, Lisa (John) Frieling, step-children, Beth Edwards, Michael (George) Blackburn, grandchildren, Katie Frieling, Lauren Edwards, Sarah Edwards and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private entombment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
