Carolyne J. "Bonnie" Peterson, age 97, passed away on March 27, 2012 at Highbanks Care Center in Worthington, Ohio.
Born November 11, 1914 in Youngstown to George and Martha Ludt Murberger, Carolyne graduated from Boardman High School, class of '33. After graduation she joined a dance troupe in New York that toured Europe for 6 months, appearing for 2 months at the Hotel Savoy in London, for 2 months at Les Ambassadeurs in Paris, and at the Casino de Biarritz in southern France. Returning to New York, her troupe performed aboard their ship, the Normandy. Taking the stage name "Bonnie Bradley," she joined the NYC Rockettes and danced at Radio City Music Hall from 1937 until 1942 when she met and married John Peterson II. When her husband joined the Navy, she joined the WAVES, was stationed at Hunter College in NY, and served until war's end.
Carolyne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend -- a vivacious, gregarious person loved by many people.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; sister, Virginia DelBene, and brother, Calvin Murberger.
She is survived by her son, John Peterson III; daughter, Joan (Denis) Williamson; grandchildren, Katelin Williamson, Kristin (Daniel) Worden, Brett Peterson and Lisa (Sam) Adams.
Memorial service will be Sunday, April 1, 2:30 PM at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Road, Columbus, OH 43220.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or to Tridia Hospice.
