Cathy Ann Kern, 48, of Columbus, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 20, 2008. Her humor, quiet elegance and strength of character touched all who knew her. She left our world a better place. Her three-year battle with pancreatic cancer inspired both her healers and fellow patients. Cathy wanted to thank the staffs of the OSU James Cancer Hospital and the Kobacker House for their kindness and care. She is survived by her husband David; children Kimberly and Matthew; parents, Steven and Carol Krekus; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Lynn Krekus; aunt, Nancy and her husband Bill; nieces and nephews; Sarah, Sherry, Stacy, Steven, Andrew, Tori, and Annie. Her family will receive guests on Friday, October 24, 2008, from 5-8PM in the social room of Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Road, Columbus, OH. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 10AM at Ascension.
