Cathy L. Compton

Cathy L Compton (Reid) of Brice Ohio passed March 1, 2025.

Cathy Reid was born July 19, 1947 to Georgetta and Harry Reid in Portsmouth Ohio.

She was married to Lewis Sr. (Big Lew) for 52 years.

Cathy will be deeply missed by her children; Rhonda of Miami, OK.; Lewis(Lori) of Columbus, Jacob of Columbus, and Justin of Columbus; grandchildren,

Billy Collin Collin’s of London, Ohio, Benny Charytee Collin’s of Miami, OK., Chelsea Lance Compton Pickerington, OH., Kendra Paul Gress of Amanda, Ohio, Theodore (Teddy) Miami, OK., Kabela, Hunter; great grandchildren, Oliver, Kyler, Declan, Greyson, Harrison, Trinity, Ben, Harland, Hazel, Logan & Ruby; brother, Jason; sisters, Dottie, Tammy, Karen Sue, and Geri Lynn; several very close friends.

Cathy is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; grandson, Andrew; granddaughter, Leann; brother, Harry.

Cathy served as the Mayor of the village Brice for several years and as a member of the village council. She also served as a school bus driver and aide for Groveport Madison schools.

Cathy was involved with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America while her children were growing up. Cathy attended several local churches where she helped in the deaf ministry and where ever there was a need.

One of her many talents was crafting and arranging flowers for weddings and special events.

Cathy was loved by everyone that knew her!! She spent her final days at Embassy of Winchester where she was loved by many of the residents and staff where she would take several of them under her wing and filled in as a surrogate mother.

Cathy was unable to attend church for the last couple years but was attended too faithfully by Reverend Cheryl Issac who was a dear friend and confidant of East Columbus Community Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at META Church (1729 Gateway Circle Grove City Ohio 43123) on April 5 2025 with visitation from 1-3pm with a celebration of life service following.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local church for their children’s ministry because Cathy loved children.

The Family would like to thank the staff and residents of The Embassy of Winchester for taking great care of Cathy for the last couple years.
