Cecilia Banahene

Cecilia Asiedua Banahene, Aged 79 of Columbus, passed away on the 10th day of October 2021. Cecilia A. Banahene aka Mena Radio was born on November 2nd, 1942 in Kwahu Pepease, in the Eastern Region of Ghana to late Opanin Kwaku Boakye and late Madam Catherine Amma Mirekua.

Cecilia was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, where she was a Patroness of Christian Mothers Associatiation. Cecilia Banahene enjoyed gardening, dancing, spending time with family and was fond of her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and friends.

Cecilia is survived by nine (9) children, namely; Jude, Philomena (Nana), Faustina, Sylvester, Patricia, Paschal, John, Emma and Bonaventure. She is also survived by forty (40) grandchildren and two (2) great-grandchildren; Along with seven siblings, many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, love of her life Francis Banahene, children Dennis and Olivia Banahene.

There will be no visitation at the Newcomer Chapel, but memorial service will be held on November 6th, 2021 at St Anthony Catholic Church from 8:00am to 11:30am with Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Adu Addai as the officiating priest.

Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, final funeral rites will be held on Saturday November 6th 2021, at St Anthony Catholic Gymnasium from 8:00pm to 2:00am.
