Charissa Marie Taylor, born June 22nd, 1994, was called home to Jesus on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 after the most courageous fight with cancer by any 14 year old. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Victor Staley, Jr. She leaves behind her mother, Jessica Taylor, Mark Parsons (Daddy), Mike Taylor (Father); siblings, AudryAnna, Sarah, Ricci, and Michael; grandparents, DeLora and Tony Weaver and Marie and Tim Mowery; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, good friends, and very special friend, Oley Herdman, who all adored her and will miss her smile and spirit. The family would like to thank Dr. Randolph Olshefski and his nurse practitioner, Suzanne Scott, along with Faye Buillo, her social worker on the hematology/oncology floor for their devotion to Charissa. An extra special thanks to the staff and students at Finland Middle School for the support and love shown to Charissa and her entire family over the last school year. Calling hours will be Friday, March 27, 2009 from 4-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. A celebration of Charissa's life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2485 Gantz Road, Grove City with Pastor Curtis Sheets officiating. Interment immediately following at Obetz Cemetery. In honor of Charissa's love of Walt Disney World, the family requests you wear a piece of clothing with Tinkerbell (her favorite) or any other Disney character to the calling hours and funeral. In lieu of flowers, to help with the funeral expenses, the family humbly requests donations be given to the Charissa Taylor Benefit Fund at any Huntington Bank.
