Charlene Shoemaker, 79, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2009. Born to James and Nida (Zerbe) Dent on March 15, 1930, in Columbus, Charlene is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eileen Schatz and Audrey Dent. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert Shoemaker; daughters, Pam (Tim) Taylor, Robin (Mark) Shumaker and Jana Iacampo; grandchildren, Jena (Nick) Kraner, Paige Taylor, Carmen and Mia Iacampo; nieces, nephew and many friends. Charlene was a member of the Westerville Red Hat Society and was a past member of the Minerva Park Pool Board. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, 2-4PM & 6-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 3380 Tremont Road, Columbus, OH 43221.
