Charles Duke Burhns, 80, of Columbus, OH passed away August 19, 2012. He was born in West Chester, PA on April 27, 1932.
Charles Burhns, aka Doo, let me start by saying he had quite a life. Now that your gone the feelings cut like a knife. You've done so much for so many. Enemies, I never knew you had any. On the other hand friends and family you had so many. I'm sure everyone here is feeling a little more than down, I've learned to look at life like a merry go round. Right now we are on the bad side but smile and stand your ground. The good side is coming around. Don't wanna bore everyone going on and on…Doo you were a hell of a man! Right on!!!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Duke Burhns Sr. and Agnes (Cashore) Burhns, wife, Shirley (Riggs) Burhns and son, Tim Burhns. Surviving family includes, daughters, Christine Grecol, Rebecca Ward, sons, Mike, Mark, Patrick Burhns and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 6:00pm, Friday, August 24, 2012 at the American Legion, 3363 McDowell Road, Grove City, OH.
