AUSTIN
Charles Edward Austin of East Cleveland, Ohio enjoyed 95 wonderful years of life. He was born July 4, 1915 and departed this life on March 3, 2011 in Columbus, Ohio. He is survived by his beloved wife Tennie, daughters: Kathy Conner, Sylvia Brown, and Marilyn Barr; sons Carl, Stanley, and James. Charles was raised by his grandparents on a farm in Limerick, OH. He left the farm to join the Civilian Conservation Corps. He learned many trades and finally settled into the automotive repair professions. He served at Wright-Patterson Air Base during WWII as a mechanic. He later limited his professional art to automotive body repair, a job he loved and performed for over 40 years. Besides his family and work, his passions were riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing trips to Canada, hunting, and bowling. He was the proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren. He was an honest and hardworking man who was an example for others. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
