Charles R. Hanes Sr., 81, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 11, 1929, in Charleston, WV, son of the late Russell Hanes and Catherine Cruikshank McBurney. Charles served in the Air Force and was a member of Moose Lodge #1245, American Legion in Delaware and Parkview Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Joan Whisner Hanes; son, Charles R. Hanes Jr.; daughter, Cindy (Tom) Wooden; sister, Doris Rhodes; grandchildren, Cortney (Harrison) Curtis, Kevin (Bobbi) and Katie Wooden, Steven, Scott and Rachel Hanes; great grandchildren, Mason and Alivia Curtis and Conlan Wooden. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd Columbus. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will be in New Fairview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt.
