Charles E. Head, 76, of Grove City, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2007 after an extended illness at Monterey Care Center, Grove City, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Folk and Helen McQuerry Head; daughter, Deborah Hansen; stepson, Stanley A. Gibboney and brothers, John, Fred and Gene Head. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ardith Joann Head; daughter, Elizabeth (Steven) Roper; grandson, Evan Roper; step grandchildren, Stacie Henderson, Lori (Steven) Perone, Sean Gibboney and Stanley A. Gibboney Jr.; sister, Linda Stiefel; brothers, Bill and Robert Head; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Norma and Steward Gibboney, Mary and Max Lowery, John Yinger, Harriet and Jim Blackburn and many nieces and nephews. Charles retired from the United States Air Force in 1968 after 20 years of service and retired from Lucent Technologies after 25 years in 1993. Charles enjoyed many hobbies. He was a ham radio operator WD8CDS, a pilot of small aircraft, photography, building and repairing computers. He was a 32nd degree Mason with his Blue Lodge in Agana, Guam and his Consistory and Scottish Rite Bodies in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00PM Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Highland Baptist Church, 3460 Hoover Rd., Grove City, Ohio with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Dr. Kent Spann will be officiating with interment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank the staff at Monterey Care Center for their care, support and kindness.
