MCCLANAHAN
Charles (Johnny, "Knightrider") McClanahan, born on June 1, 1941, passed away May 20, 2006. He will be greatly missed by his family. He was born in Grundy, VA but resided in Columbus for over 40 years. He had served in the Army during the Vietnam War, worked at General Motors but later went on to be a builder of beautiful homes as a carpenter. His hobbies were amateur radio and he also loved working on electronics and surfing the internet. He was preceded in death by his wonderful mother, Allie Fair McClanahan; loving sisters, Helen Darnell, Mary Rose, Thelma Hurley, Josie Roosevelt, Myrtle Ratliff and brother, Lonnie McClanahan. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Frances McClanahan; two sons, John McClanahan and wife Teri, Timothy Ball and wife Tami; two daughters, Cindi Richards and husband David, Marilyn Hall and husband Billy; two sisters, Ava McClanahan, Eura Stiltner; brother, Gary McClanahan; sister and brother-in-law, Sonny and Gay Foster; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 7:00PM Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until time of services.
