Charles R. “Pete” Gue, Jr., 89, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born on March 6, 1935 in Obetz, Ohio to the late Ethel M. and Charles Russell Gue, Sr. Both of his sisters, Jeannette Gue Thomas and Helen Bernice Gue Sterling, also preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Abbie M. Gue; his three children, Junia Chambers and her husband, Chris, Russell Gue and his wife, Lisa, and Jenny Gue; and his four grandchildren, Aaron Gue and his wife Meredith, Lewis Chambers, Adam Gue, and Joy Chambers.
Pete graduated from West High School in 1953 and he served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He retired from General Motors where he worked as a millwright. Pete was a Mason and a long-time member of Westgate United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and dart player. Most importantly, he was a loving and steadfast husband and father, and he enjoyed camping with his entire family.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Westgate United Methodist Church, 61 S. Powell Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43204 with the funeral to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio at 11:30 a.m. The services will be streamed on Facebook Live from Jenny Gue's page. The family requests memorial gifts be made to Westgate United Methodist Church.
