Charles R. Pruyn, 86, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 13, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Eva Chlorane; brothers, Jack and Richard; and sister, Carol Hunt. He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Jane; daughter, Karen (James) Roach; son, Charles "Gary"; grandchildren, Kimberly (Gene) Mangrum and Jamie Roach; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Casey, Zach and Chloe; and sister, Margie (John) Reinhard. Charles was a WWII veteran with the 8th Air Force, stationed in Rattlesden, England, where he served as a tailgunner and togalier in the 709th squadron in the 447th bomb group. He attended St. Charles High School and graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in business. Charles was an avid golfer at Bridgeview Golf Course and then the Riviera Country Club. Visitation Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH. Funeral Service Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles' memory may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 793 W. State St., Columbus, OH 43222.
