Charles Gary Pryne, 74, died unexpectedly on June 20, 2021 at home in Minerva Park. He was born January 13, 1947 in Columbus, the son of Charles R. and Jane P.(Hessler) Pruyn. Gary graduated from Westerville High School, class of 1965. Following graduation he served with the U.S. Marines in Vietnam. After discharge he settled back home in Columbus, where he competed on the flat track motorcycle racing circuit, thrilling his Dad and terrifying his Mom. He also loved fishing at Lake Erie and waterskiing around central Ohio in his "trusty" boat. Gary was a member of Self Realization Fellowship, a spiritual path that he followed his entire life. He spent almost 40 years driving a semi full of mail all over Ohio for James Carte/D.P. Miller Trucking. Gary lovingly cared for his Mom and Dad until they passed. He also had a lifetime love of vintage T.V. westerns, and an uncanny ability to fix any car or mechanical device. Survived by his sister Karen (Pruyn) Roach, her husband James, their two children Kim and Jamie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was loved by all. A service of remembrance for both Gary and his Mom, Jane, who died on May 7th, will be held Friday, September 10 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43231. Visitation is at 11AM with services following at noon.
