Charles Leroy Rodgers, age 75, of Columbus, OH passed away peacefully on February 4, 2023 at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Rodgers, his sister Juanita Dorn and his loving wife Diana. He was a graduate of Whitehall Yearling High School. Charles served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and then made a career of serving in the United States Navy. He is survived by his three children, Jennifer (John) Blackburn, Charles Rodgers and Lisa (Tom) Bright. His eight grandchildren, Patrick (Kayleigh) Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Aaron (Caitlin) Johnson, Devin Rodgers, John (Alexis) Blackburn Jr., Ashley Bright, Landon Rodgers and Ava Rodgers. Two great-grandchildren, Patrick Johnson Jr. and Oliver Johnson. Charles is also survived by his brother Mike (Kathy) Rodgers, many nieces, nephews and extended family. Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him and his stories.
Memorial Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Grove City, OH on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:30 am. A short visitation will be at 11:00 am prior to the service. Pastor Tina Fox will preside over the service. Interment will be at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield, OH immediately following.
