DAVISSON
Charles Stephen Davisson (Steve) was born September 15, 1948 in Sardis, West Virginia. Steve passed away on March 13, 2011, surrounded by friends and family, after a long battle with lung cancer. Steve loved music and golfing; but, more than that, he loved his family. Steve was the son of Denzil (dec.) and Bernadine Davisson and had seven siblings: John and Marlene Earnest, Buck and Trudi (dec.) Davisson, Dwight and Sue Davisson, Brenda Crayton, Maynard and Karon Davisson, Lucille Harris, Denny and Jean Davisson; and a brother-in-law Randy and Molly Bush. Steve leaves behind his wife Bonnie (Bush) Davisson. Steve and Bonnie were best friends and, except for his time in the Vietnam War, have been inseparable since their marriage 43 years ago. Steve leaves behind four children and seven grandchildren whom he worshipped and adored. Son Rod and Jennifer (Blair) Davisson (Sady, Maddy, and Kenzie); daughter Tonya MacDonald (Mikie and Marcus); daughter Rhonda and Larry Sampson (Chase and Jacob); and son Stevie and Brittannie (Butcher) Davisson. Steve was a decorated United States Marine veteran, worked for Martin Painting for 23 years, and owned his own construction company until his retirement. Steve was the rare breed of man who lived his life for others and gave everything he had to ensure their happiness. His family, including many surviving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and innumerable friends will all miss him dearly. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am, Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the funeral home.
