Charles E. Stephens, 77, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008. He was born November 29, 1930 in Halcomb, KY., to the late Earl and Sylvia Stephens. Preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Clayton Stephens of West Jefferson, OH. Served as a medical tech for the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Retired from Westinghouse in 1988. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda Stephens of Grove City; son, Jerry (Debbie) Stephens of Col. OH; daughter, Susan (Matt) Porter of Pickerington, OH; granddaughter, Samantha Stephens of Columbus, OH, Shelby Porter of Pickerington, OH, step granddaughter, Holly Porter of Groveport, OH; brother, Alvie (Brooksie) Stephens of Dayton, OH; sisters, Annette Lamm of Dayton, OH, Chloma (Dale) Jarrett of Dayton, OH. Chuck was a loving husband, father, and proud loving Pappaw. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 10:00AM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Dr. William L. Snider officiating. Entombment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the American Cancer Society.
