THOMPSON
Charles "Hap" Thompson, 70, of Grove City, OH, passed away, March 8, 2011. Born February 28, 1941 in Columbus, OH to Marvin and Doris (Hasting) Thompson whom preceded him in death. Hap was a graduate of Grove City High School and was employed by Columbus Coated Fabrics for over 30 years. He was a member of Grove City Elks and Moose Lodge, and American Legion. Hap loved "fast" cars, the Cleveland Browns and NASCAR. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, softball and loved spending time with family. Surviving family includes, loving ex-wife, Margaret Thompson, daughters, Robin Thompson, Lori (Chris) Thompson, son, Marvin "Brad" (Dina) Thompson, sisters, Dolores (Bill) Weaver, Beverly (Jim) Hastings, grandchildren, Amber Thompson, Tara Thompson, Breanne Hanscel, sister in law, Jeanie (George) Baird, brother in law, Duane (Betty) Swetland, step-grandchildren, Trent and Chelsea Paul, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be held at 7:30pm, followed by the Grove City B.P.O. Elks Lodge #37 memorial service. The family would like to thank Emeritus at Pinnacle and Odyssey Hospice for their caregiving and support.
