Charles W. Swisher, 73, of Grove City, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born on August 14, 1937 in Columbus, OH to the late Basil and Dorothy Swisher. He served in the Army from 1960-1962, retired from the City of Columbus in 1988 after 30 years of service and later from Roman J. Claprood Florists. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Nancy (Radel) Swisher; by his children Diana (Greg) Dush and Lisa (Jason) Leach; and grandchildren, Charlie and Caitlyn Dush, Seth Humphrey, Caleb Westervelt, and Olivia Clark; step-grandchildren, Jake and Andrew Leach; by sisters, Pauline (Jim) Foster, Jeannie Gale, and brother Guy (Terrie) Swisher; sister-in-law Patricia (Charles) Chaffin and Wanda (Kenneth) Corder; numerous nieces and nephews and life-long friends, Tom and Ann Barrett. He was a devoted George Jones fan, a collector of relic die-cast and model cars and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, March 4, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
