Charles Paul Swanick (September 27, 1933 - August 10, 2024). Born in Jersey City, New Jersey.
We will all miss hearing his stories of growing up in Jersey City; swimming in the murky Hudson River, shining shoes with his homemade shine kit in New York City, and sneaking into theaters during school days to watch double features instead of attending his grade school classes.
Nevertheless, he graduated from Chicago Technical School, earning his Mechanical Engineering diploma while raising children. Charlie was proud of his work experiences which included a multitude of structural and mechanical engineering accomplishments.
He loved spending leisure time on and in the water. He enjoyed Caribbean sailboating with friends, cruises with his wife, fishing, and especially beach time with his family. He instilled in them his love and peace that he found in the ocean. Charlie was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and he raised his family to remember and carry forward those traditions. He shared his love of music, art and was an avid gardener. He was a loving husband and father whose family always came first, encouraging laughter and storytelling.
