Cheryl Storts

Cheryl Dee (Schwamberger) Storts, 41, passed away June 17, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with Crohn's Disease and cancer (MDS). She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Larry; parents, Butch and Mary Schwamberger; children, Craig (Lisa) and Brittne Storts; sisters, Melody (Scott) Canterberry and Missy Carey; and furry companions, PJ, Tiny, Hobbs and the late Putter.

During Cheryl's precious time with us, many wonderful people crossed her path. We wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the following people:

To Cheryl's friends and co-workers at DiscoverCard for all the kindness and generosity they have shown to Cheryl, Larry and family during her illness;

To Dr. Jan Steinbaugh, gastroenterologist, who has been Cheryl's doctor and friend since age 16;

To Dr. Steven Devine and the staff at the James Cancer Hospital for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion to Cheryl and to her family during her Bone Marrow Transplant and continued cancer treatment;

And to the doctors and nurses of the OSU Emergency Department and MICU, especially her nurses Carol, Jamielynn, Steve and Bethany, for treating Cheryl and her family with comfort, compassion and dignity as she made the transition into her next Life.

Visitations will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 1-3 PM and 5 - 7 PM. A celebration of Life service will be held at 7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH.
