Surviving family includes loving wife, Anna, children, Renee (Sean) Gurtler, Lance (Lori) Bruck, grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas (Hannah), Joshua (Kheirra), Amanda and great grandson Jacob Drew. His best of friends, Sammy and Joy Stamm.
He accomplished many amazing things in his life. Of these accomplishments, his greatest achievement in life was being an amazing husband, super pop (dad), and an award winning Poppa and a great friend!
He started his career at a young age as a paperboy, (which would lead to his future career) rebuilding RV's. This lead into carpentry and building his own home. He would go on to join the Army National Guard for the next 6 years. Leaving with an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant and recognized Riffle Sharp Shooter M1, leading to a volunteer Fireman, Equestrian with a love of all animals. He would then become a pressman working from the ground up to plant operations manager of the Providence Gravure for 23 years. His dream was to live in Florida where he became a tree farmer and chemical technician of a private golf course.
His pleasures consisted of spending time with his wife, children, and his greatest treasures his 3 Grand babies. He loved to travel. Of those adventures were New Hampshire, Tennessee, Florida and Ohio! He loves adventures with his grandchildren, building marshmallow guns, tents in the living room, indoor snowball fights, long talks and mysteries, go karting, 4wheeling, hiking, picnicking, air soft guns with the boys, building things with the boys, he sparkled with his grandchildren. He could never get enough time with them, he loved making cooking creations with the kids!, (making messes for us to clean). Never ending projects in the house and including a covered bridge entry way. He never left his daughters side in the past 24 years of living here in Ohio. He never allowed her to feel or be alone. Whenever she asked he was there including every job she did he was there. He was our personal Disney World Tour guide. Mostly, just wanted to spend time with his family traveling in his prize 79' self customized Ford pick up truck.
He managed to kick Cancers Ass!! Along with telling it "to take its finger and stick in up its @&* !" In the end he went the way he wanted to go. Home with his family and dog (Noki) beside him. He took his last breathes on his own terms! He will never be forgotten.
We will forever Miss you and your wisdom. There wasn't a person who knew him he didn't touch. He has been our Hero, he has been our best friend, he has been our mentor, he has been our husband, our father, our grandfather (Pop), our friend, mostly our everything!
"Leave the lights on Poppa," we will see you soon. We will miss you forever and miss you with all our hearts. Fly free like the angel you are. No more pain, no more needles just love and peace. Please watch over us, we will miss you and never forget how much we love you.
We love you with all our hearts and we will forever keep you close. Just like you always had our backs!
Visitation will be held from 3-6pm, Monday, April 24, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065, where a funeral service will begin at 6pm.
