Chester "Bud" McKenzie, 77, retired truck driver for WalMart and North American and former Texaco gas station owner in Columbus, OH., passed away from complications of pneumonia on Sunday, April 18, 2010. Bud was born on July 16, 1932, in Sitka, Kentucky, and served in the United States Air Force in the 1950's. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herford and Cova (Salyers) McKenzie; daughter, Lisa Yoakum; sisters, Marie and Jean. Survivors include his daughter, Darlene (Anthony) Woodward; son, Michael (Debbie) McKenzie; grandchildren; Melissa Woodward, A. Darlene (Edward) Nawrocki, Jessica Yoakum, James Yoakum, Jared Yoakum; former wife, Edith McKenzie; son-in-law, Michael Yoakum; sister, Jewell; nieces, nephews and many friends. Bud enjoyed sharing jokes and stories with his family and friends, as well as watching NASCAR races. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, April 22, 2010, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, OH.
