Christina Anne (Pappas) Haines, age 66, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away February 1, 2023. She was born October 14, 1956, to Jack A. Pappas and Virginia Lee "Ginny" (Hostutler) Pappas.
Christina married Richard D. "Lucky" Haines at age 18, and they spent 47 years together building a family. She became a mother at age 19, giving birth to Kellye A. (Haines) Cook. At age 22, she gave birth to her second child, Kristopher A. Haines. And she later became a grandmother to Madeline "Maddie" Grace Cook and Sofia Rose Cook, who she loved fiercely and with whom enjoyed spending any time she could.
Christina was a beautiful, generous, and lovely person who dedicated her life to her family. She was great at the things she tried and was incredibly intelligent. She worked hard to provide for her family and excelled. She loved simpler things-like Tab, crossword puzzles, interesting rocks, cardinals, dining out, and her shows-and she enjoyed shopping for the things that made her home pretty and special. She loved vacationing with her family and playing games with Maddie and Sofia. And she bravely took on life's serious endeavors-like marriage and raising her children from a young age and making sure her family was provided for. She understood loyalty.
Christina will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves on Earth her husband, Lucky; daughter, Kellye; son, Kristopher; son-in-law, Eric D. Cook; granddaughters, Maddie and Sofia; sisters, Virginia Lee "Gina" Britt and Susi G. (Pappas) Rutledge; brother-in-law, David Rutledge; and her aunt and uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many good friends. We were lucky to have her, we love her, and we will never forget her.
Christina's passing was preceded by that of her father, Jack, and her mother, Ginny, both of whom she adored. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio.
A gathering will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
