Claire, beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully February 10, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 3, 1926 to the late Jacob Franklin and Effie Mae (Engle) Reeser.
Claire Wilcoxson was an incredible lady who raised six children as a single mother. She was a mother and grandmother not only to her own family but to friends and neighborhood kids. She taught all of us so much: compassion, kindness, manners, respect and always to seek God and thank Him.
Claire was devoted to two things above all: God and family. This was evident the moment you walked into her home. She always welcomed you with warm smile and big hug.
It is said that a Bible that is falling apart belongs to a person who has it all together. That was Claire. She held the family together with the word of God and a sharp tongue. She wrote notes on every page of her Bible and left a mark on every person she met. Not one of us knows where we would be without her.
Claire is preceded in death by her husband John Wilcoxson and daughters Alice J. Wilcoxson and Rayetta D. King, parents, and siblings, Jacob Reeser, Jr. and Alice Longstreth. Claire is survived by her children: Debbie (Tom) Shepherd, Tab (Lisa) Wilcoxson, Thomas (Jacqueline) Wilcoxson, and Annie (Matt) Lewis along with 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
