Clara Lou Horn, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on July 31, 1931, in Columbus, Ohio, Clara was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. A graduate of West High School, she embraced life with a spirit full of kindness and joy.
Clara dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, proudly serving as a homemaker. She took exceptional pride in maintaining a clean household and consistently providing delicious meals that brought her loved ones together. Clara was not just a caregiver; she was a gracious host who welcomed family and friends into her home, always spreading warmth and laughter. Her love for fun and connection extended beyond her own walls, creating cherished memories that will never be forgotten.
Her passions were many, including her love for travel, music, and shopping. Clara found thrill in challenging the slots at local casinos, often sharing stories of her escapades with her family. Above all, she was proud of the life she built alongside her late husband, Robert Eugene Horn. Together, they created a legacy marked by love and a deep commitment to their family.
She is survived by her loving son, Randy (Donna) Horn. Clara was also a treasured grandmother to Shelly (Scott) Davis and great-grandmother to Madyson Foutty, and her granddogs, Sophie and Jax. She also is survived by the best group of neighbors, that to her were more like family, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Clara's legacy is also one of enduring love and cherished memories with those who have gone before her. She is preceded in death by the love of her life for 68 wonderful years, Robert Eugene Horn, her daughter Cheryl Horn, her parents, Pauline Alkire and Harold Cassell, her sister, Charlene (Lloyd) Dean, and her brother, Jack (Lois) Cassell.
