Clark Duane Holmes, 67, of Columbus, slipped away Friday August 18, 2023. Clark was born on May 18, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio to Cassius Holmes and Bertha Clark.
In the early part of Clark's life, he served in the Army as a Flight Operator Coordinator with an honorable discharge. Later on, he would become a small business owner -- he owned and operated a successful cleaning company, Holmes Janitorial Services, in Columbus, for over 15 years. Holmes Janitorial Services was Clark's pride, joy, and life's work. He poured his heart and soul into the business which showed to all his customers. He was also the Head Custodian III at Northland High School for many years and known by numerous students for his top notch appearance. Often times he was mistaken as the administration and not a janitor. Clark was known for his distinguished mustache and his jewelry.
He was a grill master and loved to indulge in spicy foods whether it be pickles, ribs, wings, popcorn, or hot peppers. It was his pleasure to feed everyone who entered his home and he always had enough for you to take home with you. Clark also loved antique cars, collecting music vinyls, old books, and vintage bar décor. It was common to find him in his man cave enjoying his collections.
Clark was preceded in death by his Mother Bertha Clark, Father Cassius Holmes, Brother Todd Holmes, Brother Carlos Holmes, and Daughter Sabrina Holmes.
Clark will be deeply missed by his wife Robbie Holmes of 35 years. Living Siblings: Stefan Holmes Sr, Deirdre Holmes, and Kristin Holmes. Children: Nicole Miller, Serena Holmes, Neena Dumas, Aarius Dumas, Jenna Dumas, Dacia Witcher-Whiteside, and William Witcher Grand-children: Damiya Miller, Damont Miller, Jorden Darden, Jayden Darden, NeJai Pinson, Jahir Pinson, Sam Dumas, Aaren Whiteside, Dacia Whiteside, Curtis Witcher, Camille Witcher, and a host of family and friends. We will miss him more than words can say.
Clark was one of God's masterpieces. He was known as the "G.O.A.T," very unique and not a copy. He called very few people friend and was loyal to those that he did. To say he touched the lives of many would be an understatement.
Visitation will be August 29, 2023 from 9:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m at Crossroads Baptist Church, 5075 Cleveland Ave, Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Paul Gabriel officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Road, where military rites will be held.
