Claude Nathan Hardy, Jr., age 68, of Columbus, OH, passed away on Tuesday, April 13th, 2010. He was born on September 15th, 1941 to Elvira and Claude Nathan Hardy, Sr. in Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Dorothy M. Hardy.
A member and served on the deacon board at the Come As You Are Non-Denominational Ministries in Columbus, OH. He was a lifelong member of the famous gospel singing group called "The Singing Prophets". Graduate of Parker High School in Birmingham, AL and retired from Unico Alloys in Columbus, OH.
His loving survivors are daughters: Yolande (Arthur) Turner, Yvonne P. Hardy, Shaphonia Hardy and Cheryl (Kenneth) Sermons of Birmingham, AL; sons: Tony Nathan of New York, NY, Claude Edward Hardy III, Robert Williams and Anthony Freeman of Columbus, OH; sisters: Patricia (James) Alexander of Birmingham, AL and Gwendolyn (Charlie) Jones of Southfield, MI; brothers: Frederick (Alice) Hardy, Sr., Claude Lewis (Rose) Hardy, Darryl (Marsha) Hendricks and Jeffery (Andrea) Hardy of Birmingham, AL, Maurice (Robin) Hendricks of Villa Rica, GA and Bernard (Ginger) Hendricks of Suwannee, GA; God-daughter, Tawanna Washington of Columbus, OH; God-sons: Kenneth (Denice) Stokes, Chowee (Tara) Thomas and William (Lois) Monroe of Columbus, OH; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to his dear friends: Willie Frank (Liz) Stanley, Jeff (Debbie) Davis, Charles (Valerie) Savage, Joe (Willa) Craig, Janice Smith and Barbara Hoover of Columbus, OH, for their true friendship and support. The celebration of Claude's life and legacy will be at the Come As You Are Non-Denominational Ministries, 1402 Smith Road, Columbus, OH, 43207 on April 19th, 2010, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Allan D. Roberts officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 18th, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
Interment immediately following the funeral service in Greenlawn Cemetery.
