Clifford F. Irvin, 70, of Vero Beach, Florida and Johnstown, Ohio; formerly of Newark, Ohio passed away suddenly Tuesday, January, 22, 2013 at Ohio State University Medical Center after a 14 month courageous battle with cancer.
Cliff was born August 4, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 1960 graduate of Olentangy High School and worked for 37 years as a Locomotive Engineer, retiring from the CSX Railroad in 2002.
Cliff enjoyed traveling, was passionate about cooking and loved the warm beaches of Florida. He and his wife, Judy enjoyed spending time at their winter home in Vero Beach, Florida with a wonderful circle of friends.
Preceded in death by father, Fulton "Tag" E. Irvin; mother, Viola Marie (Short) Guiducci Brent; step-father, Luigi G. Guiducci; uncle George "Bud" Short and maternal grandparents along with several aunts and uncles.
Survived by his loving wife, Judy (Penman) Irvin whom he married on January 20, 2009; sons, Kip and Cary Irvin; grandson, Dustin Irvin; step-children, Jeff Penman, Jodi Whitney, Jennifer (Todd) Smith; four step-grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, Evan and Grant; sister-in-law, Monica (Tom) Ketler; brother-in-law, Don (Shirley) Kuntzman; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery
at a later date.
