Clive Daniel Brofford, 84, of Galloway, Ohio, was promoted to glory on December 20, 2021. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 26, 1937, the third child of Alfred and Ruth (Rawson) Brofford. Clive grew up in Columbus and graduated from West High School in 1955, then went to climbing school and worked for Ohio Bell. Clive served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 -1958 on the USS Brister and USS Price. After being discharged from the Navy, he returned to the phone company for a few years and met and married the love of his life, Julie Ellenberger of Jackson, Ohio on November 1, 1959. Clive and Julie were married for 60 years and were blessed with a wonderful life! They weathered the storms of life together and enjoyed the family they created. For years, while Clive ran his Sodding and Seeding business, Julie worked as a nurse. When Julie retired from nursing, Clive "retired" like farmers do. He continued to do things around the farm, fix tractors and other equipment, fertilize or disc the field, and go to coffee with the guys daily.
Over the years Clive worked in many capacities. In addition to the phone company, he worked for the Columbus Fire Department, drove an ambulance, and then bought a bulldozer to start his own business. Later he founded and ran Brofford Incorporated (his sodding and seeding business), drove a school bus, and worked his land as a soybean farm.
Clive became a believer in Jesus Christ in his 60's and from there took a keen interest in prophecy and the end times. He was looking forward to getting to participate in the rapture of the Church upon Christ's second coming. However, it turns out he will get to participate as one of the dead in Christ who will rise first!
Clive was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julie, his parents, his infant son, Eric Clive, and his father and mother-in-law Merle and Amy Ellenberger. Surviving, and missing him greatly, are his children Kevin (Susan) Brofford of New Milford, CT, Colleen (Dave) Pataky of Munith, MI, and Amynda Brofford (Brian Linsey) of Las Vegas, NV, siblings Carl Brofford, Lois Morgan, and Randi Brofford and grandchildren Kelsey, Claire, & Evan Brofford and Julianne (Stefan) Carlson, Michelle, Nicole and Daniel Pataky. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
