Clyde William "Bill" Miller, 89, passed away on February 10, 2024. He was born on October 3, 1934 in Columbus, OH.
Bill served in the Navy in Panama, working as a mechanic on Jets and also in the bowling alley.
He owned a Humble gas station on Kenny Road for years, working on all makes of cars and buying Tommy's Pizza on Friday evenings.
After that, he was employed as a sheet metal worker in Local 98 until retirement, working on many projects, especially the Honda Plant in Mansfield, Ohio and for 6 months in New York City. And the Atrium in Riverside Hospital.
Bill and his family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1973, after being introduced to the Church by a neighbor.
He served in many positions with the Church, and he especially enjoyed the time that he served in the Bishops Storehouse as he got to drive a forklift and truck to deliver food orders while helping others.
He also served in the Columbus, Ohio Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints.
Bill and Linda enjoyed biking around Columbus and areas close-by. He even rode multiple times in the Tour of the Scioto River Valley with his Grandson, Erik once.
Woodwork was a busy hobby after retirement. He enjoyed making toys for the grandkids, and cutting the grass in his yard with his John Deere tractor.
A lover of dogs and birds, he enjoyed his Boxer Spud and watching the birds (especially Cardinals) from the window of the house.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lincoln Miller and Edna Mae (Porter) Murphy, past wife, Claudia Cecil "Sue" and grandson, Bryce.
Surviving family includes wife, Linda, son, Kevin (Heidi) Miller, daughter, Melissa Dawn "Missy" Miller, step-sons, Daniel (Lisa) Cash, Bryan (Carrie) Cash, step-daughter, Susan Cash, grandchildren, Erik, Katherine, Kelly, Joshua, Elysha, Mallory, Vic, Hila, Henna and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Theodore and Frederick.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm, Friday, February 16, 2024 at Green Lawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Avenue, Columbus, OH 43223.
