Craig Steven Mott, 64, of Galloway, Ohio went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with COVID complications.
He was born on August 6, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Mary Lee Mott. He attended East High School in Columbus, Ohio.
From there he joined the United States Army and served from 1975 to 1982, where he spent time in the missile sites of mountains in Vincenza/Longare, Italy. After separating from the Army, he went to work for the American Red Cross in January 1983. He began his career as a Mobile Unit Assistant (MUA), transporting the equipment and blood collected on community blood drives. He was the first MUA to be cross trained to perform phlebotomy. After transitioning to collections he operated the Comet/Mini Mobiles. He eventually transitioned to Apheresis and helped add Apheresis to the Nationwide Donor Center. Most recently he could be found in charge of the Carriage Place Donor Center. His phlebotomy and customer service skills were second to none.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kari; daughters, Tracie Coquinati, Ronrica Mott, Camille Mott; beloved son, Jaden Mott; grandchildren, Jada, CJ, and Damian; sister, Valerie Mott; nephew, Antwan Mott; along with many other family members including cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He took pride in his yard and creating smoked delicacies on his Big Green Egg. He enjoyed the latest electronic gadgets and listening to his music. He was a member of Cypress Wesleyan Church. Craig enjoyed spending time with his family. He was charismatic, a jokester, and never met a stranger.
Visitation Monday, February 1, 2021 from 4pm to 7pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Galloway Cemetery. Masks are required for attendance.
