D. Vernon Elliott

D. Vernon Elliott, age 52, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 15, 2011. He was born on February 19, 1959 in Washington Courthouse, OH. He graduated from Miami University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Music and pursued his love of music as a band director, playing his favorite instrument, the Tuba and teaching students. His greatest passion was for people to know the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in London, OH. He is survived by R. Joy (Kaufman) Elliott who he married in July 2002 in Columbus, OH. Also surviving are his parents, Dale and Mary Jane Elliott of Circleville, OH, siblings, Bridget Elliott of Chicago, IL, Melissa (Elliott) Van Camp of Circleville, OH, Travis Elliott of Baltimore, OH, nieces and nephews, Marceil Van Camp, Amelia Van Camp, Adrian Darst and Evan Darst. His brother Bart Elliott preceded him in death. Calling hours will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 121 N. Madison Ave., London, OH, on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a memorial service at 1:00pm. Pastor Dwain Hill will be presiding. Contributions can be made to the Benevolence fund of Grace Baptist Church. Joy wishes to thank her family and friends who have been a support during Vernon's illness and passing.
