Dale Richard Neitman
March 4, 1963 — September 8, 2023
Dale Richard Neitman, age 60, went home to be with our Lord on September 8, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 31 years, Carol. His daughter Anya. His 4 legged companion Maya, Step-sons Bryan (Heather) Stumpf, Stacy (Leslie) Stumpf; father Robert Neitman, brother Robert Neitman. Grandchildren Heidi and Nico Stumpf, brother and sister in law Phil and Marcia Oder, nephews Aaron (Chasity) Oder, Sean (Brittney) Oder, godmother, Stacey Maurer, special friends Sonja Stauch, Barb Mechling (his special girlfriends), Pat and Ray Swansinger. The Special Maurer family, as well as, David and Susan Day. Many friends, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Dale graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from The Ohio State University. He was an exchange student through Kettering Sister Cities and went to Steyr, Austria. He undertook a mission trip to Peru. He served in the United States Army from 1986-1992, at which time he served in Desert Storm. He then went on to become a Columbus Police officer and finally a detective. He was on the Police Dept. for 27 years at which time he had to retire due to his illness.
He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps. He enjoyed fishing in Lake Erie and deep sea fishing in Hawaii, Mexico, and Florida. He loved digging for fossils and he and Anya dug for shark teeth whenever they were near water.
He is preceded in death by his mother Martha, maternal grandparents Robert and Dorothy Feicht, Paternal grandparents Louis and Louise Neitman, Uncle Fred Feicht and Aunt and Uncle Jack and Carolyn Noss.
Burial will be at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 4-7pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 11am at St. Cecilia, 434 Norton Rd., Columbus, OH 43228.
