Daniel P. Hicks

Daniel Patrick Hicks, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018. He was born March 17, 1944 in Pickaway County, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Glenn and Mary Elizabeth(Parker)Hicks, an older brother, Neil Lincoln Echard, whose wife, Virginia Echard survive. He retired from DuPont in Circleville, Ohio after 35 years of service. He graduated from Logan Elm High School,Circleville, OH where he was 1st Ohio Basketball Team 2 years in a row. He attended North Texas University & served in US Army during the Vietnam War in 101st Airbourne Division. He had a love of flying model airplanes planes & was a member of R.O.R.K.S. on Kellenberger Road, Chillicothe.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Flo Elam-Hicks, a younger brother, James Michael (Bette) Hicks, Circleville, Oh. Two (2) Sons, Glenn Allen (Laurie)Hicks, Columbus, Oh; Kevin Wayne (Mangal)Hicks, Madisonville,Ky.

He is survivied by one grandchild, a granddaughter, Temperance Hicks, Madusonville, KY. Four (4) step-children: Dwayne Edward (Karen)Newman, Circleville,Ohio; Shayne Edward (Bobbi)Newman, Columbus,Ohio; Shawnda Kaye Hulett,Gastonia,NC; Leah Lorraine Hulett & her financee Earl V. Estice. Ten (10) step-grandchildren & numerious neices & nephews. The family want to give very special thanks to Leah Hulett, her financee, Earl Estice, daughters, Demetria Espana & Zahrea Ivy, special friend, Cindy Nichols & step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Myers for all the care given to him in the months before his death; And to the wonderful, thoughtful people of Heartland Hospice.

Visitation will be held from 11am to 12 noon, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. A graveside service will be held at 12:30pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Circleville, OH.
