Dan served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1970. It was during his time in the Navy that he met his soon-to-be wife, Mary, through mutual friends. They married in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and then moved to Ohio to raise a family. He completed his Bachelor of Science, Marketing degree at The Ohio State University in 1972.
He worked in the restaurant industry for many years, and retired from working at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He was a die hard Cleveland Browns fan who loved to read westerns, write, and watch movies. Through the years, he had gathered a very extensive movie collection, especially anything that starred Clint Eastwood. He was very fond of activities such as hiking, fishing, picnics, and trips to historical sites with his family.
A private ceremony will take place for his family, to be followed by a celebration of life in the future.
