Daniel J. Matunas, 58 of Westerville, passed away suddenly January 15, 2013 at home. Born July 3, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio.
He was a 1972 graduate of Reynoldsburg High School. Daniel was employed with Aqua Ohio for more than 30 years. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching Andrew's participation with the Columbus Capitals Hockey Team and Blendon Westerville Little League. Dan was a diehard Browns, Buckeye and Red Sox fan.
Preceded in death by parents, Robert Matunas and Ruth Ellen Hastings; brother, Robert C. Matunas.
Survived by his daughters, Elizabeth and Christina Matunas; grandchildren, Andrew and Hailey; brother, David (Pam) Matunas; sister-in-law, Brenda Matunas; aunt, Grace Payne; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and several long time friends especially, Jim Mussio.
Friends may call from 1:00 -2:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM Tuesday.
